J

DID YOU KNOW?

Dr. Maxwell Maltz, author of Psychocybernetics, wrote that,

regardless of a person’s age or sex, it takes twenty-one days to change a habit.

We make it a habit to check in with you to see if you're STAYING organized!

When purging your personal things, ask yourself 3 questions:

1.  Do you love it?

2.  Is it useful?

3.  Does it lift my energy?

Much of the stress that people feel doesn't come from having to much to do.

It comes from not finishing what they've started.

--David Allen--

If you don't design your own life plan, chances are you'll fall into someone else's plan.

And guess what they have planned for you?

Not much.

--Jim Rohn--

Call us and we will help!

Most people don't realize that when we provide Home Staging services to people, we are also providing Organizational services to them.  In order for us to prepare your home to look its best while you are still living in it, we have to also assess your organizational style and de-clutter the home.  This is so important because the way you live in a home when it is on the market to sell, and the way you live in a home that is not for sale, is very different.

When your home is on the market, you are living with the bare minimum of items needed to get you through each day.  All the other items in your home should be packed away.  Remember, you want your home to look spacious, clean, and bright at all times.  When you leave to go to work, potential buyers may be viewing your home.  It's not easy  for families who have a lot going on in their schedules, to keep up with the appearance of being organized 24/7.

It's never too late to get as much information as you can on getting and staying organized.  We provide classes in the Roanoke area to anyone wanting to learn some tricks.  Getting organized really is easy.  We have the tools.

Organization is being able to find what you’re looking for--getting things done--being in control of your life.

Ask yourself these questions:

  1. Do you forget where you put your car keys regularly?

  2. Does it take you more than 10 minutes to find important documents, checkbooks, bills?

  3. Does your mail sit unopened for weeks and you pay your bills late?

  4. Do you forget appointments for yourself or your family?

  5. Has your dining or kitchen table become you desk?

  6. Does your car no longer fit in the garage?

  7. Are you losing new clients because you can't keep up with your business?

  8. Do you feel as though your clutter is in control of you instead of you being in control of it?

If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then you should give us a call.  Don't let yourself continue to get a little further behind each day.  We don't want you to continue “reacting” to life instead of living it!  There comes in time in people’s lives when they become so disorganized, that their lives aren’t working for them anymore.  They become depressed, anxious, frustrated, and their attitudes become negative.  It's not difficult to get off this roller coaster ride and develop the habits we truly need to enjoy life more.

Organization is a skill; it can be learned.

If you decide it’s time to get organized, you’ll be free from the chaos and able to control your life, instead of having it control you.  Once you get started with organizing your time and space, you will need to stick with it and stay focused on your goals.  We'll help you form good habits needed to complete and manage the organizational process.  This process also involves staying healthy and changing old negative attitudes for positive and encouraging ones!

Begin the process of getting organized NOW!

Getting started is the first step, and discipline and follow-through are the keys to staying on top of your goals of getting organized.  You should never expect to tackle everything all at once, so take baby steps, breath, stay healthy, and learn to recognize the signs that cause you to be most frustrated.  It can happen at any time -- you misplaced your car keys and you're now running late for work......

You will be amazed how easy it really is to eliminate the extra “noise” clutter adds to our senses. There are three steps you should follow to achieve success in any project you undertake in the realm of getting organized. You can clean out a closet, organize a desk, or plan a wedding following these three steps.

1.   Eliminate - eliminate from the area what you absolutely do not need. Remember, you don’t need to keep

everything. Something that had meaning to you in 1979 may not have any meaning to you 20 years later.

      Ask yourself these three questions:

•    Do I absolutely love it?

      •    Is it genuinely useful?

      •
Does it lift my energies when think about it or look at it?

 2.  Categorize - as you toss the unwanted items, other items start to fall into identifiable groups. Keep like

things together and store them that way.

 3.   Organize - now, in lieu of mounds of chaos, you have identified the things you want to keep and are ready

to find new homes for them.

Many people form strong emotional attachments with their possessions and as a result, it is very difficult for them to separate with those items. Their mother gave it to them....., their dad made it....., or it matches the chair in the other room...... Does this sound familiar?

If you don’t like the item, why keep it?

If you are storing it away in a box and not using it, get rid of it!
Creating a system for storing and retrieval sounds so easy when you read it in a magazine, but the one thing these articles and books leave out is one ingredient we need most -- UNDERSTANDING.  We need to understand HOW  and WHY we are unorganized.  HOW and WHY we procrastinate.  The reasons are different for each person, each room, and each unique situation. This is where our organizational training can be of great help. We access your organizational style then help you use your strengths to help you get and STAY organized.

Here are some things for you to think about before contacting us to help.

1.   Identify your reasons for procrastinating - admit it - if you didn’t

      procrastinate, you’d be organized!
2.   Set your priorities
3.   Get motivated
4.   Start small
5.   Learn to say NO

You CAN stay on top of daily tasks rather than getting consumed by them.  Get inspired!
