Feeding America Southwest Virginia

In February 2011 Roanoke held another great Bridal Shower event (two on the same day for that matter), and we were honored to be asked to be a part of it.  A number of us volunteered to help with registration.  Part of the proceeds went to help Feeding America.

Habitat for Humanity Building Project

My family loves helping Habitat for Humanity to build a houses.  This is something that we will enjoy doing year round.  The people were great and we can put our carpentry skills to work.  Besides, I love working with "man toys"!  If you ever want to help them build homes, please call them.  They always need extra hands.

Feeding America Southwest Virginia

In July 2010 a group of us from ITT Technical College went to Salem on the weekend to help at the food bank's distribution center.  Other groups came to total about 50.  We were divided into two groups.  Our group's assignment was to go through the food to inspect, clean, label, and sort into boxes so they could be distributed to organizations inside and outside our area by the middle of the week.

Getting ready to kick it into high gear at our stations.

"Work for Food" Campaign

In May - July 2010 our W.E.R.V. group (Women Entrepreneur's of the Roanoke Valley) worked hard on a campaign to raise money for the Second Harvest Food Bank.  All of us agreed to donate a percentage of our proceeds, during those months, to the Food Bank so they could purchase food items for needy families.  We'll let you know the outcome in August.

Smiling for the camera as we prepare to hit the road on our campaign.
Fair Trade Housing Training

In May 2010 the Fair Trade Housing Commission held a training for anyone related to the housing industry.  Final Touch Designs was asked to sponsor the event along with two other companies.  A very informative and fun time was had by all who attended.

2010 Home & Garden Show

In January I was asked to give a presentation on "The Benefits of Home Staging" at the Roanoke Civic Center.  We had a great turn-out that morning in spite of the weather.  Whenever possible we enjoy providing educational and interactive workshops to help educate our area on the importance of preparing and marketing your home quickly and effectively BEFORE placing it on the market to sell.

Home Staging Round Table event

In November2008, Final Touch Designs volunteered to host a National Round Table event to represent SW Virginia.  All Home Stagers in our area were welcome to attend and have lunch together in order to facilitate positive interactions within the home staging industry, provide support, and promote the benefits of home staging to the consumer.  Our sponsors were 1-800-GOT-JUNK and PODS - a huge thank you to them for making this event such a huge success!
