Home owners and sellers know that Home Staging and Redesign covers a wide variety of tasks to insure the home is ready to sell or ready t o live in comfortably, but where does color come in?  Color is very important in so many ways.  It can liven up a dull room or tone down a stark, cold room.   Whatever your preference or need is, we can help you make those tough, scary choices. Fashion has always understood the power of color to tell a story.  And so do we.  We use color in our clothing to make a statement about ourselves to project an image we want others to accept.  We accept that wearing certain colors delivers a message about who we are, yet why have we been so slow to consider how surrounding ourselves with color in our homes can also make a statement about us?

History confirms that color is a natural element of life and every culture has expressed itself in vivid, living color. Color truly, is the language of living .It’s the association with color - not the color - that elicits your response to it.

The first step when decorating with color is usually the most difficult.  Where do we begin?  It’s much easier to decorate when you start out with a preconceived concept of the mood you want to create, the develop a design for the room, around the mood.

There are eight personal color moods that may help to make your decorating decisions a little easier.  There are three energetic, active moods: Whimsical, Dynamic, and Sensuous.  The other colors are quiet, soft restful, moods to elicit a peaceful and calm environment. All of these Color Moods express a completely different feeling. See if you can identify with any of them.

              Whimsical                                             Dynamic                                            Nurturing
              Sensuous                                             Contemplative                                 Romantic
              Tranquil                                                 Traditional

As a color consultant, one of my jobs is to help you identify what color moods you are trying to achieve for the rooms in your home.  If more than one person lives in the home, then everyone has a voice when helping to define that mood.  Of course, color is not the only element that provides that mood; natural and non-natural lighting, family life, and the activity that takes place in each room also play a major role when choose colors.
